DASL Search Patterns

Power Search

DASL's Power Search engine supports several different search requests. With Power Search, you can choose to search on Full Text, Story Titles, Story Topics, Story Methods, or Datafile Subjects. You may enter up to three terms into the form and the terms will either all be ANDed together (the default) or ORed together. The searches are not case sensitive.

The only special symbol recognized in the search field is a trialing * which indicates right truncation. Thus, "regress*" will match regress, regression, regressor, etc.

One special symbol is not recognized in the search field. That symbol is the hyphen or "-". Therefore, do not attempt to do a search on "t-test" or "Chi-square". Instead, leave the hyphen as a space and use "t test" or "Chi square".

Statistics Topics

The stories in the database include one or more statistics topics. These searches are activated automatically when you select a topic within a story.

Statistics Methods
