Research Interests:
Jessi Cisewski's main research interests are in developing statistical methodology for problems in the physical sciences, and in topics of inference and foundational areas of statistics. Her interest in the physical sciences is primarily focused on astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology (i.e. astrostatistics). Inference topics of interest are generalized fiducial inference, linear mixed models, and inference using the solutions of inverse functions.
Bio:
Jessi Cisewski received her Ph.D. in 2012 from the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 2005 with a BS in mathematics, Jessi was a property and casualty actuary for 2 years before starting the Ph.D. program at UNC. She is originally from Minnesota, and misses long, cold winters.
