I grew up in Seattle, Washington and attended the University of Washington (UW), recieving a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics.
During my last two years at UW, I worked at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and worked on a project involving Particulate Matter 2.5 (air pollution) in Region 10. Working at the EPA also lead to my involvement with STATMOS, where I worked on a projecting local sea level rise.
After graduation, I spent a year working at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), working on the Global Burden of Disease Study.
