Abstract

1994 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jerzy Neyman, one of the most important statistical figures of the 20th century. In this paper, we revisit his early and seminal work in the related areas of randomized experiments and sample surveys and describe its importance to the evolution of these two related statistical fields.
