Erratum: smregpar3d/ireg3d error of 7/13/2005
This error causes incorrect 3D motion correction- in fact, the motion
correction applied is exactly the opposite of what is needed! For the
error to occur, the following must be true:
- estireg3d, smregpar3d, and ireg3d must be used. If you are using
only the standard Fiasco scripts, this means using the scripts
estireg3d.csh, parsm3d.csh, and epi.ireg3d.csh. The problem does not
arise if afni_estireg3d.csh is used, or if the parsm3d.csh step is
skipped.
- The pre-release version of ireg3d from after 7/13/2005 (CVS
revision 1.23) must be
used with the pre-release version of smregpar3d from before 1/24/2006
(CVS revision 1.11).
Note that you must have used a prerelease version of Fiasco to
have encountered the problem; no official release or patch of Fiasco
or FIAT contains the offending code.
You can tell if a particular run of Fiasco contained the error by
checking the CVS version numbers of smregpar3d and ireg3d in
out/logfile, or by checking the headers of the files in the par
subdirectory. If the '##Format: names:' lines of par/reg3d.par.* and
par/smreg3d.par.* differ, the problem has occurred. We will be happy to
help you determine if this problem has occurred in any of your runs,
and to discuss the most efficient way of correcting such runs.
