Sexual Well-Being in Women


DESCRIPTION:

The objectives of this study are to explore determinants of sexual well-being and distress about sex in women in heterosexual relationships, and how they relate to age, and to socioeconomic and ethnic group. A national representative sample of about 1000 women has been interviewed using telephone CASI (Computer Assisteded Self Interviewing) technology. The interview is based on The Kinsey Institute Interview Ratings of Sexual Function.

Questions explored in this study include: What are the basic factors that influence sexual arousal, interest and satisfaction and well-being in women? How do women themselves define sexual well-being and sexual problems?

FINDINGS:

Findings related to distress about sex and on the determinants of sexual attraction and well-being are due to be published in 2003.
