There is also a blackboard page for this class, but it
will be used mainly for reporting grades and for the
discussion board and perhaps some online assignment
submissions. Please do check the bulletin board there regularly.

If you use gmail (especially if you forward andrew mail to gmail) PLEASE
add a filter in gmail [under the 'settings' menu] preventing email
from stat.cmu.edu from going in your spam folder. I will occasionally
send email from my statistics account, and you need to be able to read
and respond to it.

Most other materials for the course will be available at
http://www.stat.cmu.edu/~brian/780.

The Course syllabus is here.

Here is a copy of the Stanford SNA group's Introduction to Social Networks labs. Some of
the early hw assignments depend on this.  Please use these copies rather than the originals;
since some of underlying R packages have changed.

If you would like a flavor for the kind of material that will be covered in the class, please see http://hnm.stat.cmu.edu/. Roughly speaking, the course will proceed in three quick phases: (1) Introductory lectures, including hw's. (2) Reading/discussing important papers, and using existing software (primarily in R), including hw's. (3) Brief projects and paper reports.
Here is an incomplete bibliography for the course.
Here is the CIDnetwork R package.
