1920 Census for Homestead borough, Allegheny County, PA on January 15 has 38 y/o Ignatius and 34 y/o Rose renting on Short Street with sons Joseph (5+6/12) and Julius (2+3/12) and 78 y/o widowed father-in-law Samuel Tavisit(?sp). Ignatius arrived in 1907, Rose in 1911, both from Hungary and both were naturalized in 1911. Samuel was also Hungarian and arrived in 1911 but was still an alien. The kids were not yet in school, and all of the adults could read and write. All of the adults parents were from Hungary. Ignatius was working as a machinist at a machine company.
1930 Census has 47 y/o Ignatius at 541 Dickenson Street in Homestead, renting for $50 per month. Rose is 44 and the boys are 15 and 12. Age at first marriage is listed as 29 for Ignatius and 21 for Rose, which does not compute; perhaps the 21 is really a 27. Language spoken before coming to the US is Magyar for both parents. Ignatius' year of immigration is listed as 1906, and Rose's is unknown. Ignatius is now working as a butcher in a butcher shop. He was not a veteran.
