The 1930 Census shows 43 y/o Elias and 41 y/o Malka living on Euclid Avenue West in Detroit, Michigan with daughters Cecelia (19) and Sonia (17). They've been married for 20 years and are paying $75/month rent. All were born in Poland, as were their parents and their native tongue is Yiddish. Elias is a "minister" at "Sharry Zedec" who came to the US in 1926 and has filed naturalization papers. The others came in 1927. The girls are in school.
On his WWII draft registration Elias says that his middle initial is H, his address is 5862 Beacon St, he is 55 y/o and was born 1 Jun 1887 in Wolkoweph, Poland, his employer is Beth Shalom Cong on Beacon and Shady where he is a "reverend", and the person who will "always know your address" is Malka.
