Episode I: Ride To Glory

Submissions: Due at 5pm

Each group must submit a single .zip file** containing:

• All (well-documented!) code used to analyze the data, obtain results, create graphics, etc (any programming language/software is acceptable)
• A 1-2 page report describing the key results and methods used to analyze the data (made as or converted to a pdf file)
• Up to 3 slides for a 5-minute research presentation (made as or converted to a pdf file)

Your .zip file must be named: "TeamName_TDSC.zip". Submissions are due at 5pm.
Each group may only make one submission.

Presentations: 7pm, Baker Hall 136A

Your code, report, and slides will be judged from 5-7pm, and 10 finalists will be selected. Teams are encouraged to use the 5-7pm dinner break to practice their presentations. Starting at 7pm, the top 10 teams will give a 5-minute presentation to a panel of judges and the rest of the TDSC teams/audience.

The top three teams will receive the following prizes:

1st place: $250
2nd place: $125
3rd place: $75

Additionally, the 1st place team will (temporarily) receive the Tartan Data Science Cup!

Additional Prizes

In addition to the prizes listed above, all teams (including non-finalists) are eligible for the following prizes:

Best data visualization
Best statistical writing
Best slides
Best team name
Random drawings!

We encourage all teams to stick around, watch the presentations, and see if they won any of the additional prizes!
