In the 1910 Census 37 y/o "Joseph" (Isadore) Chernuchin are renting a home at 1603 Ann Street in Pittsburgh wife wife Anna (37), and children "Isadore" (Sidney, 10), Mary (8), Harry (6), and Hyman (1). Everyone except Hyman was born in Russia as were their parents. Joseph immigrated in 1903 and is still an alien. He works as a cleaner in the clothes business on his own account. Anna is illiterate, but Joseph, Isadore, Mary and Harry can read and write. The latter three are in school.
In the 1920 Census 47 y/o Isador is living at 1512 Quince Alley with Anna (47), Sidney (19), Mary (17), Harry (15), and "Peter" (Paul, 9). The house is owned free. Isadore immigrated in 1904 and filed naturalization papers in 1908. The other immigrants came in 1908 and are still 1908. Anna is now listed as able to read and write. The five immigrants are listed as having Yiddish as their mother tongue. The only one working is Sidney who is a salesman at am Army/Navy store for wages.
In the 1930 Census 57 y/o Isadore and Anna are living in the $8000 house they own at 67 y/o Marion Street with 25 y/o Harry and 18 y/o Paul. They own a radio. Isadore and Anna have been married for 27 years. The immigrants are all naturalized. Isadore is retired, Harry is a salesman of shoes, and Paul is a salesman in a department store. None are veterans.
